Stephanie Kirk
After 20 years of corporate life in the pharmaceutical industry,
Stephanie Kirk, Ph.D. began a second career as a conceptual photographic
artist. She studies at the International Center of Photography in
New York City. Kirk's projects deal with feminist topics - family
relationships, self-image and food.
In Kirk's early photographic work, she displays an interest in
two-dimensional images appearing three-dimensional. Recently this
has led to mounting and/or printing photographs on three-dimensional
(usually household) objects. This work invites the viewer to "compare
and contrast" object and image for layers of meaning.
