Roger Matsumato
Roger Matsumoto is a photographer currently working primarily in hand-coated printmaking. His preferred medium is the palladium print, but also works with salt prints and cyanotypes. These prints, along with silver gelatin and dye-destruct color prints (Ciba/Ilfochromes) have been exhibited in over 120 juried shows and one-person exhibits. Locations for exhibits have been from New York City to Seattle to Louisiana, and London, England.
He has prints in museums such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Utah Museum of Fine Art and the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, TX. Other prints in collections are at the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas City, The Free Library of Philadelphia and the Salt Lake International Airport.
Both prints in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art were included in a show "The Silver Garden", which ran from February to July in 2005.
Roger is a recipient of an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of Arts.
He is also a "Challenge Exhibitor" in the Samuel Fleisher Art Memorial series of exhibitions in Philadelphia.
In addition to printmaking, Roger has served as a juror for the Delaware Division of Arts, Phillips Mill Photography Exhibition in New Hope, PA, and the Newark (DE) Arts Alliance.
