Jose Avila Jose Avila (Chadds Ford, PA) received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Architecture from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. Photography has always been his first love; a love which was heightened in graduate school when he made a camera obscura (Lat. dark chamber) in a gallery as part of a photographic exhibition. He uses a wide variety of cameras and printing processes to create his works.
